Roccaraso is a town in the province of L’Aquila with a population of 1,672. It is a member of the Comunità montana Alto Sangro e altopiano delle Cinquemiglia, a local association of mountain municipalities.  Its ski resorts make it one of the most popular winter tourist destinations in the Apennines.
